About Us

Last year, New Standards Research completed its groundbreaking research studies on PetroChina and companies involved in the Chinese stone/construction sector.

At a time of economic uncertainty for American companies, our research is particularly relevant to successful engagement with foreign markets and companies.  Asian firms are new to reporting in detail on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.  New Standards Research is critical in bridging this gap through investigative reports, reviews of online local language sources, interviews with experts, facilitation of company communications, and leveraging of a wide variety of information sources through assessments and analysis.  Read more about our services and pricing on our Research page.

The New Standards Research method emphasizes local language reporting as well as scans of Chinese language blogs and chat rooms, where views can be found that do not normally appear in the international media.

New Standards also interviews local journalists who have been tracking specific companies during the past two years.  We therefore maintain contact with a large network of Chinese journalists who perform this research, complementing the work of our in-house team.

Because China lacks a free press, use of in-depth analytical techniques are particularly essential. For New Standards, moving toward a free press is an explicit goal in our work with investors who care about fostering a more open society in China.

Many thanks and best wishes,
